What made you begin your blog?
I felt I had something to share with other mums and I loved the connection and sense of community that Instagram could provide.
What are the positives and negatives of having this platform?
The beautiful people I’ve met through here and friendships I wouldn’t have had if it wasn’t for instagram. The negatives are feeling you may be criticised for what you share/or don’t share and I guess it can also become very time consuming.
What has been your highlight with your blog?
It has enabled me to draw on my creative side which is totally opposite to my day job and the opportunities I have been presented with for not only myself but my children also. It’s a lot of fun.
What has been your biggest challenge with the blog?
TIME! Definitely the time and juggling it all. It can become really stressful at times with deadlines and also having enough time to share the normal/reality side of my life.
What are your tips for juggling mum life, working and the blog?
Work when the kids are in bed if you are able to, even if that means getting up a little earlier before they wake. Also learn to say no. I said yes to everything up until about a year ago roughly. I felt that I needed to attend every event and say yes to everything in fear of not being asked again but it hasn’t. You can pick and choose.
Mum life questions
What is your number 1 piece of advice for a new mum?
It goes soooooo fast! I know it doesn’t feel like it but it really does. Enjoy them. Take a million photos. But also, take time out for YOU!
What was the worst advice you received as a mum?
To wake my baby to feed them. My babies were born massive and also over the average weight so when a health nurse suggested to wake to ensure the 3 hourly feed I initially considered it thinking they must know best. Not true! You know your own baby and trust your gut instinct.
How have you changed as a mum?
I think when you become a mother your whole world changes and you realise work isn’t the most important thing anymore. It also makes you realise you need to be happy and not stressed all the time as your children can feel that.
What is your most embarrassing mum moment?
I honestly can’t think of one! Haha I’m sure there have been many though.
What was your most challenging mum moment?
The early days of sending my children to child care. Honestly it was so so hard. We all feel that. But after not too long I realised the massive benefits to it and for them. Best thing we ever did.
More about you
What does a day in the life of the Insta Beauty Mummy look like?
Haha it’s very routine like. Wake and do breakfast for kids and make lunches. Quick shower and drop kids off. Head into the office. Pick kids up and then home for the dinner, homework, shower and bed routine. Weekends are a little less regimented but we usually always head out on a Saturday for a fun activity with the kids and also there is always food involved! Haha! We love our Melbourne cafes!
What is the next step for your blog?
It’s a little hard for me to think so far ahead at the moment with working full time etc but I am just enjoying every minute for the time being.
What is your next life goal?
More travel. Definitely want to travel more with the kids.
Anything else you would love to share.
Just a big thank you for even being interested in me or my life! Xxx
